This class shows you how to avoid costly problems. What may look good on the computer screen, but can go horribly wrong on press. Questions to ask the printer before starting a project. What causes font problems and how to avoid them. Limitations of electronic images and how to work around them.

You will also learn about the pitfalls with using certain special effects. How to use pre-press proofing to maximize accuracy and minimize expense. What to do when things go wrong.

We’ll teach you the relationship between screens, paper, and dot gain. Paper characteristics, costs, and choices and where to get the information you need about papers. Color printing choices and causes of color problems like Moiré. The benefits of conventional vs. stochastic screening patterns. How to use trapping to prevent unsightly gaps between colors and when trapping will cause problems.
